Hard of Hearing Systems
Building Better Audio Environments for Hard of Hearing Audiences
Hard of hearing systems are created to dramatically improve the clarity of sound for the hearing impaired and work in conjunction with their own hearing aid.
- Induction Loop system: Induction loops or hearing loops are different from venue to venue depending on their function and the aesthetics of the room, but the majority of small spaces have a perimeter loop installed as this is the most cost-effective hearing system to install.
- Infra-red system: If an induction loop installation is not practical due to the rooms being too close to each other, we will often recommend infra-red hearing systems in venues where more control is needed as an infra-red system will not spill over into other rooms as each listener has their own individual receiver. This receiver is either a stetho-set receiver or a neck hearing loop.
- Wifi Solutions: Streaming Wi-Fi offers an alternative to the more popular technologies and performs by converting the audio source to a digital stream, compressing it and streaming the bits over a local area network (LAN) to a Wi-Fi wireless access point (WAP or AP). From the access point, the encoded data is streamed wirelessly to personal devices such as Smartphone’s or tablets. An App on the phone receives the signals and decodes it for the user.
